The Philippines has vast geothermal energy resources that can provide the energy requirement of the country. For us at Mount-Sibulan Kapatagan Geothermal Project (MSKGP), we have made it our mission to tap and maximize this renewable energy source to help address the country’s growing energy requirements.
Once drillable prospects has been carefully selected and drilled and tested for production, PSEPI will install one 20-MW modular power plant (MPP) per two production wells. Another two production wells will immediately be drilled and tested, and installed with another 20-MW MPP.
The MSKGP geothermal reservoir is expected to reach temperatures exceeding 300°C like those found in a nearby “World Class Geothermal field” just 7 to 8 kilometers Northwest of the MSKGP Block. MSKGP has geothermal resources, and soon its power plants will supply much need electricity into the transmission line connected to the Mindanao Power grid.
